Master Forge Gas Grills Sold at Lowe’s Stores Recalled Due to Fire and Burn Hazards
Guangdong Vanward Electric is recalling 37,000 of their Master Forge Gas Grills due to possible fire and burn hazards. The gas grills were sold exclusively at Lowe’s st
ores nationwide from November 2011 through May 2012 for $270.
Master Forge Gas Grills require careful installation. If the gas grills are improperly installed, the hose connecting the gas tank and regulator to the burner control can melt and rupture the grill when lit. This can ultimately cause serious fire, burn, and safety hazards to consumers.
No injuries have been reported but the company has received two reports of hoses melting. Model number GD4825 is the only Master Forge Gas Grill affected by this recall. Consumers who have purchased the gas grills should immediately stop using them and inspect the grill to make sure the gas hose is correctly installed. Consumers should also contact Guangdong Vanward Electric for revised instructions and a warning label to apply to the grill that shows how to properly install the hose and the regulator.
