Somersault Snack Company Recalls Cinnamon Crunch Snacks due to Health Risk

Somersault Snack Company is recalling 36,000 cases of their Cinnamon Crunch products after failing to list milk as a declared ingredient and allergen on the product’s label. The mislabeling can lead to serious allergic reactions to those who have severe sensitivity to milk.

Somersault Cinnamon Crunch products are available in 6-oz packages to 16-oz packages. All of the recalled Cinnamon Crunch products can be identified with a best by date of 8/30/2013 or with their UPC codes which are listed below.  The product was sold nationwide at retailers like Gelson’s, Ralphs, and Vons. Somersault Cinnamon Crunch products were also sold at 24-Hour Fitness Centers and Peets Coffee & Tea locations.

The company has received no reports of allergic reactions yet. Somersault Snack Co. has taken the precautionary measure of notifying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is also working with retail companies to ensure that the recalled products are removed from store shelves. Consumers who have purchased the recalled Somersault Cinnamon Crunch products should return the product to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
