Hunt’s Tomato Sauce Recalled due to Defective Cans
ConAgra Foods is recalling their Hunt’s Tomato Sauce after learning the product was packaged in defective and unsafe cans. Although there is no risk to the tomato sauce itself, ConAgra is taking precautionary steps to ensure customer safety.
The company is recalling 8-ounce cans of “” and “Hunt’s Tomato Sauce No Salt Added.” A defect in the can’s inner lining can cause it to swell and the product to spurt
out when opened. The recalled products can be identified with best by dates ranging from July 23, 2014 to October 8, 2014.
Both varieties of the Hunt’s tomato sauce were shipped to stores in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. The company is working with retail stores and distributors to ensure these cans are removed from store shelves.
