Kenmore Dehumidifier Recall

There have been a series of recalls this week dealing with home and commercial products.  A summary regarding Kenmore Dehumidifiers is  below:

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, along with Sears, has announced a voluntary recall of Kenmore Dehumidifiers. 795,000 dehumidifiers, which were sold exclusively at K-Mart and Sears between 2003 to 2009, have been recalled due to possible fire and burn hazards. The dehumidifiers can overheat, smoke, melt and catch on fire. There have been 107 reports of incidents so far, with more than $7 million in property damage and three reports of smoke inhalation injuries. The dehumidifiers were manufactured in China by LG Electronics. Consumers should immediately turn off and unplug the dehumidifiers and contact the firm to receive a Sears gift card, which may be used at any Sears or Kmart store or at or
