El Torito Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad

Real Mex Foods, a company based in Vernon, CA, is recalling 77,000 pounds of their “El Torito Chicken Caesar Salad Kit” due to possible salmonella contamination. The dressing that is included in the salad kit contains Fresco Green Farms cilantro. Early last week, Fresco Green Farms recalled their cilantro due to possible salmonella contamination according to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The recall pertains to “El Torito Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad Kits” in 6-oz. trays and 18-lb. cases that contain eight 36-oz. trays of the salad kits. They can be identified by the establishment number “P-4140” and sell-by dates include any of the following: “08/23/12,” “08/30/12,” “09/06/12,” or “09/14/12.” All products were made between July 23, 2012 and August 6, 2012 and distributed to stores across California.
