Range Rider Ride-on Toy Cars Recalled Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

The makers of a children’s toy car are recalling their product after reports of overheating batteries causing smoke and fire were reported.

BluesSteam Riders Inc. is recalling their Range Rider Ride-on Toy Car after receiving nine reports of batteries overheating, causing smoke and fire to melt the battery’s connections and plastic in the toy car. No injuries have been reported but consumers should immediately stop using the recalled toy car and remove the battery and contact Bluestem for a full refund of the purchase price plus reimbursement for shipping and handling.

The Range Rider Ride-On Toy Cars were manufactured in China and sold by Fingerhut, a catalog and online retailer, from September 2010 through May 2012 for $200 and $230. The recall affects models 90407B and 90407G.

If you have purchased a product and suspect that the product poses health or safety hazards, contact Khorrami, LLP for a confidential consultation.
