Boots & Barkley Pet Treats Recalled

Kasel Associated Industries, a Denver-based company is recalling their Boots & Barkley brand American Beef Bully Sticks dog treats after learning the dog treats may possibly be affected by salmonella.

The dog treats were sold nationwide at Target stores from April through September 2012. They can be identified with LOT# 647263899189 and come in clear plastic bags containing 6 sticks. As of yet, no illnesses have been reported. The FDA is warning pet owners to wash their hands after touching the treats, as it’s possible for salmonella to spread to them as well.

Pets with salmonella poisoning may be sleepy and slow moving. In addition, they may also have diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. If your pet has eaten the recalled product and has any of these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian.  Consumers who have purchased the product should return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

If you have purchased a product and suspect that the product poses health or safety hazards, contact Khorrami, LLP for a confidential consultation.
