Jer’s Chocolates Recalls Products with Peanut Butter

Jer’s Chocolates, a California-based company, is recalling two of their gourmet chocolate products that contain peanut butter for possible salmonella contamination. Reports of a nationwide salmonella outbreak were first reported after Sunland Inc., recalled numerous peanut and almond butter products they had manufactured for retailers like Trader Joe’s and Target.

The recall affects Jer’s Gourmet Peanut Butter Bars and Gable Boxes of Gourmet Jer’s Squares, produced from July 9, 2012 to September 24, 2012. No illnesses have been reported but customers who purchased these items should dispose of them or return to the retailer for a full refund. Jer’s Chocolates assures consumers that the recall is a precautionary measure, and that all their products have passed internal quality control tests.

If you have purchased a product and suspect that the product poses health or safety hazards, contact Khorrami, LLP for a confidential consultation.
