Sharper Image USB Wall Chargers Recalled due to Fire and Burn Hazards

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Atomi Inc. are recalling 80,000 Sharper Image USB Wall Chargers after numerous consumer reports of the product overheating and smoking were reported.

The wall chargers are used to recharge electronic devices through a USB connection. The recall affects Sharper Image USB chargers with model numbers, “TSI202” and “TSI260.” The recalled products were manufactured in China and sold nationwide at retailers such as Burlington Coat Factory, TJ Maxx, and online through various websites from October 2011 through September 2012.

When the chargers overheat and smoke, they can cause possible fire and burn hazards to consumers. So far, thirteen complaints of chargers overheating and smoking have occurred but no injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled wall chargers and contact the company for further instructions.

If you have purchased a product and suspect that the product poses health or safety hazards, contact Khorrami, LLP for a confidential consultation.
